Groundbreaking

December 17, 2025

St. Paul Catholic Church and St. Hubert Parish broke ground Tuesday for the new Parish Hall! Thank you to everyone who was able to come out on this beautiful day to experience the joy of seeing a project come to life. This is an exciting time for all of us to come together and show our support!

Construction of our St. Hubert parish center began on January 2, 2026. The ground was prepped, foundations and footings were poured and this week a gravel base was laid for the building’s floor. Keep watching for more updates in the coming weeks.

The soffits are done in the hall area and most of the office area. The beams have been added to the main entrance roof.

Sheathing the Exterior

Lots of activity this afternoon! The north side lower soffit was installed along Jackson St. exterior light installation began on the south and west soffits. All of the arch windows framing was done. They started sheathing the exterior. All of the doors were cut out.

Outside sheathing is almost complete. Tar paper is done on the east side and they have begun the west side.

Yesterday, the crew started putting up the house wrap. Today, hopefully they will be able to finish that project. Also working on the east side entrance/exit to the St. Francis garden.

So this morning they finished the peak and then started on the north side of the office area along Jackson St.

Today, the bricklayers approached the peak of the upper roof and prepared to brick the north face of the building. Work is also progressing on the interior sprinkler system.

The sun came out and the bricklayers resumed their bricklaying. Materials have been delivered for the interior as well.

Now that the rain has let up some, the bricklayers are back at work and have finished another section! Soon the north side will be added to the list of completed.

After yesterday’s rain, the bricklayers are back at it still working on the north peak. Watch for the special addition to hopefully show up by the weekend. No more rain please.

Making steady progress

Despite the weather, the crews keep making progress! All of the interior walls of the office area are in. The kitchen is in. The bricklayers finished the southwest side of the hall. Working on the main entrance this morning. Preparing to work on the south side and finish the east office walls next.
Q: Why do the office walls not go to the ceiling?
A: Because they have to allow for ductwork. Also the office area will have a drop ceiling. Same reason that the west kitchen wall doesn’t go the ceiling.

We’ve been busy! Plumbing and electrical lines are being installed in the stud walls. Drywall is going up in the kitchen and storage rooms.

Thursday’s work concluded with continuing sprinkler system installation, more plumbing work, more electrical work and the bricklayers are down to two walls to finish. Some bracing was also being placed in the hall area prior to drywall work.
